The city of Trevi, is like a little jewel nestling in the green heart of Umbria, it is full of Medieval monuments and houses dating from the Renaissance period. Trevi has been accepted since 2003 into the Club which lists ‘The most beautiful villages in Italy’and has long been a member of the ‘Slow City’ Association. The City association recommends a cultural circuit which satisfies the appetite of true art lovers. Within Historic Umbria it is possible to enjoy many museums, churches and monuments and its more contemporary attractions such as the Trevi Flash Art Museum of Contemporary Art. When you walk amongst the silence and unchanged streets of the historical centre of the village and discover the wonderful views from the Piaggia district of the surrounding countryside, you will feel as if you almost have a birds eye view over the splendid Valle Spoletana below, it is a most unforgettable experience which is truly difficult to describe. This little city has excellent communication links and is only a few kilometres from other wonderful centres such as Spoleto, Foligno, Bevagna and Montefalco, and within 30 minutes to one hour’s drive you will discover other fascinating places to visit such as Todi, Orvieto, Assisi and Perugia which are probably the most famous centres to be found in beautiful Umbria.
Description of buildings
The property is on three floors with a private garden. On the ground floor the space is currently used partly as a storage area and partly as living space. On the first floor, which you arrive at via an original external staircase (which also has a lovely covered outside loggia area) you find a good sized living room/dining room, a kitchen, a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and direct access into the garden, a pantry/storage area, and a lovely area which contains the internal staircase which takes you up to the second floorr where there is a large study/hallway , two double bedrooms and one shared bathroom. From one of the double bedrooms there is another access to the grounds. From the property there is a lovely view of the beautiful garden which has a terrace from which you can enjoy the splendid panoramic views over the Spoletana valley. The other part of the house although it is attached to the property does not in any way affect the privacy of the property. The property is currently lived in and has been maintained to a very high standard conserving wherever possible the original features and character of the property.
Condition
The property is completely restored as described above apart from a small part of the ground floor which is currently still builder’s finish. The ceilings all have wooden beams with terracotta tiles, the floors are mainly made of original reclaimed terracotta tiles and partly in new terracotta tiles. The main restoration of the property took place in 1990 but every year the current owner has strived to further improve the property which is why it is in an excellent condition at the moment.
Utilities
The property has all the services and the heating uses GPL gas with a bottle buried in the grounds, there is also a tank which collects the rainwater which is uses to maintain the garden.
