Chianni and Rivalto can be the starting point for many an artistic, gastronomic and nature excursion. Throughout the year one is tempted by the many culinary specialities of the 'sagre' and fairs that are typical of Tuscan culture. These include such foods as extra-virgin olive oil, obtained from traditional old presses, fine Chianti wines, and the delicious mushrooms picked in the surrounding hillsides are often the 'guests of honour' at these food fairs.Tuscan medieval hamlets are the ideal location for a holiday; in winter visitors can make the most of the nearby ski resorts, and in summer why not go for a lovely country walk in the surrounding woods. With a little luck you might also get a glimpse of the animals that have been introduced in protected areas to try and repopulate the local fauna.
There is a wide range of sports activities for more active people: with paths to explore the countryside on foot, horseback or mountain bike.
